Wes Crawford, the custom knife maker, has been a friend of Cold Steel for years, so we were happy to collaborate with him on the creation of an inexpensive version of one of his pricey custom “flippers”. The result was our new Crawford Model 1. Strongly resembling Wes’s custom knife, the blade features a wide saber grind and a strong, sharp point with plenty of belly for cutting and slashing. It’s made from Japanese 4034 Stainless and is hollow ground to a thin, razor edge that will cut at the slightest touch. And, because Wes’s “flipper” is integrated into the tang, it can be opened lightning fast!

Great EDC and Every day uses and cutting anything knife Awesome edc knife. I’ve been using it for everything not just to b a self defense tool. It cuts packages, bags, cardboard, meat extreamly well. Keep it clean or it might tarnish or might stain. The steel has a mid grade low carbon content but still keeps a great edge despite constant use. Can cut over 50 cuts of cardboard and still shave the Hair of a arm. The flipper function is a little stuck. Have to push hard and use your wrist to do the full flip out. Pocket clip/rubber handle combo makes this knife extremely hard to withdraw from your pocket! This would be a great knife, except for the fact that the rubber material on the handle under the pocket clip makes it nearly impossible to remove the knife from your pocked one handed, I wish they had put a plastic section under that part of the handle to remedy this problem.
Great knife for money, and an excellent, affordable EDC option I have bought and owned many many cold steel products and own several of their folding knives that I incorporate into my Every Day Carry. The Crawford Model 1 is a great knife for the money, the deployment is surprisingly quick and the blade comes with a excellent edge on it for the amount of money you are paying; mine was able to shave arm hair out of the box.
