Fire starter Every year I look for a gift that the receiver has to guess what the item is used for…and this was it for 2019!It took quite awhile to figure out what it was and how to use it as there were no instructions included!Once the receiver figured out to scratch some paint off of the rod and strike it we were able to see sparks that would be able to start a fire. The item is now stored with our emergency supplies..it’s a super item!
Great value I considered several large ferro rods, some at three times the price, before deciding on this one. I am no Daniel Boone outdoorsman but I wanted something to practice fire starting skills and to toss in my hiking/camping kit. I am glad I bought this one. this thing works but you need to know a few things It is a product which eventually works, but I had to figure out few things on my own, since the seller suggested to watch youtube videos to figure it out. But youtube wont tell you how to resolve some of the issues. First, it has an enamel coating which has to be scrapped off before this thing will work.
