- 5 Containers OD green; 3pc interlocking flatware set is stainless steel. When assembled, the entire kit weighs 1 pound, 11 ounces, and forms a rectangular box inside its canvas pouch. The pouch has 2 three-inch loops sewn into the back to affix a wide belt, such as a pistol belt.
- Utensils fit into a retaining pocket sewn inside the pouch. The dimensions of the kit within its pouch are 7 ½” tall x 5″ wide x 3 ¼” deep. The pouch is durable, but not indestructible. The openings in the aluminum pot and the plastic bowl fit together to form a box.
- The attached cover secures over the top like most ammunition pouches and uses a heavy duty snap fastener to secure it closed. The hinged handle of the pot has a 90-degree bend so it can double as a latch to secure the two containers together.
- Canteen – 1 liter (just over a quart). Aluminum pot – 1 liter. Plastic bowl – 0.8 liter / 800 ml. Plastic cup – 0.2 liter / 200 ml.

Great kit, great functionality! I purchased this mess kit from “The Global Sportsman”. It shipped quickly and was well wrapped with bubble wrap and shipped USPS Priority Mail. The kit was complete and in VG condition, a few scratches on the metal pot, and some initials, none of which bother me whatsoever. The kit smells like any other surplus item (really just the canvas carry pouch) from any country and is totally acceptable. Worth It WASH it really good, I washed all of it with boiling water and soaked my canteen in CLORAX and water for 24 hours. I did boil the water for cleaning in the pot, After which I heated up some soup then instant coffee and all completely satisfied. For an SOL situation, I think it would come in real handy. It is definitely made for heavy duty use, the pot is solid and the plastic bowls are thick. Included utensils are stored nicely and work very well.
