Kershaw is proud to present the Chive that started it all. With its 1.9-inch blade, the Chive is a small knife, perfect for everyday carry in a pocket, pack, purse or briefcase. Just because the Chive is small doesn’t mean it is not mightily capable of everyday cutting chores such as opening packages or breaking down boxes. SpeedSafe assisted opening ensures the Chive’s handy compact blade is always ready to go in a pinch with a simple pull back on the ambidextrous flipper. The Chive’s blade is made of high-carbon 420HC steel, offering good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance while the handle is made of corrosion resistant 410 stainless steel. Both are coated in a bead-blasted finish for a non-reflective, matte appearance that is easy to maintain. The Chive’s two locking systems ensure safe usage and transport. A frame lock provides solid blade lock-up while the blade is in operation, and a sliding Tip-lock help keeps the blade safely in the handle during transport. The Chive just might be the perfect little pocketknife. With its less-than-two-inch blade, the Chive is a small knife, which makes it perfect for pocket, pack, purse, or briefcase carry. But just because it’s small doesn’t mean the Chive isn’t mighty. In fact, the Chive is perfect for just about any cutting task you’d care to ask it to do—from opening packages to breaking down cardboard boxes. To ensure this handy little blade is always ready when you need it, the Chive is equipped with SpeedSafe assisted opening. Just pull back on the ambidextrous blade protrusion or push on the thumbstud and the blade moves out of the handle, ready for use. The high-carbon blade steel offers good edge retention and excellent corrosion resistance. The bead-blasted finish is easy to maintain. For safety, the Chive has two locking systems. The frame lock secures the blade open so it can’t accidentally close during use. And to ensure that it won’t accidentally open during transport, the Chive is also equipped with a Tip-Lock slider to lock the blade closed when folded. In pure stainless steel, both blade and handle are easy to clean and maintain.

Amazing little knife Amazing little knife. And for those of you who complained about the size, can you not read a ruler? It’s small…by design. See the attached picture for scale/reference. The blade length (under 2 inches) means it’s legal to carry in places where a larger blade wouldn’t be allowed. Which is exactly why I bought it. I’ve owned Kershaw’s Leek model for years and it’s performed incredibly. This little guy was super sharp out of the box and like the Leek will stay sharp for a long time before…
ch-ch-ch-Chive! This miniature beauty is an awesome little folder. The flipper is the easiest method to deploy the blade, but the thumb stud is pretty damn smooth, too!I don’t use the pocket clip because I’m in a wheelchair, so trying to pull out the knife from my pocket while seated is an exercise I’d rather skip. So, for me, the pocket clip is removed…on this knife and all my other folders. On the seat cushion of my wheelchair is a small pouch – usually for small tools in case of wheelchair…
Best All-Around Small Pocket Knife Many of you, like me, have probably compared this knife to the Gerber 22-41526 Mini Fast Draw. I could not decide which I liked better so I just bought them both. To spare the suspense, if you can afford it, buy the Chive. That’s not to say that the Gerber doesn’t have its merits. The Chive is the best in class as far as I can tell. The fit and finish are superb, exactly what you would expect from Kershaw. The knife is very narrow (a little less that 1/2″ when you factor the…
