Great pants for thin legs Re: Size 4 Short. -I read about these being tight at the zip line, and they are slim. The shorts measure 8.5″ lying flat at hem and the inseam is 10″. They do feel loser when unzipped and wearing as shorts. I would probably not go climbing in these. Size 4-Short pants inseam is 30.5″ and the length is great for 5-2″-5’3″. The material is lightweight and show every bulge and article you may be carrying. Unforgiving on a less than perfect derrière.
Field Tested In the Costa Rican Rain Forest. Excellent Pants! I cannot imagine why Columbia uses the pictures above to show what these pants look like. They make the pants look far less flattering than they actually are (they’re pretty cute!). I usually wear a 4 and ended up sizing up to a 6S for these because they are thin fabric, and tight + thin fabric = not attractive (I’m 5’2″ and weigh about 120lb). Zipper digs, good fabric for field work. These are great work clothes. Perfect stretch, some sort of waterproofing or quickdry. And they fit pretty well. My hip measurement is 39, and my thigh is 21 at it’s widest point.My only problem with these is that they aren’t for kneeling, squatting, or even sitting. My bought the size 8, and it’s almost too loose around my waist, the zipper diggs in when you bend your knees even a little.
