Don’t expect perfectly cut bottles every time I bought this to cut wine bottles specifically. It’s hard to score a bottle evenly with this kit, but with some practice it is possible to get close. Using two people can be helpful, one to rotate and one to apply even pressure on the bottle. I’ve cut around 25 bottles and have noticed one of the blades is starting to wear down. You have better luck with thinner bottles (most white wine bottles, beer bottles, sparkling water bottles, etc.) than red wine and champagne bottles, which tend to have…
Works as Expected I received my AceList Bottle Cutter today and used it to successfully cut 4 wine bottles.The first thing you need to know is this DOES NOT cut the bottle. It scores a line in the glass, which you then use to break the bottle. I am very pleased with the glass bottle scoring machine but the instructions … I am very pleased with the glass bottle scoring machine but the instructions should be changed. When I poured hot and cold water over the score, I had very poor success in achieving clean or usable breaks. When I changed methods – and heated a large deep pot of water to just under boiling point and set up an ice bath, not only did I achieve clean usable “cuts”/breaks on all 9 bottles, but the number of transfers dropped to 1 or 2.
