Pretty good hiking shoe The day I received the shoes, I left for a camping trip. I went on a hike of about 3.5 miles out and 1200ft of elevation climb on a moderate rated trail. I didn’t encounter any slippage across the diverse terrain and they felt pretty good for not really breaking them in prior to the hike. After returning home, I did use a wet terry cloth to wipe them down and didn’t find any scuffs, which surprised me because I didn’t take it easy on them. They also came fairly clean.If there is a…

Updated: A poor substitute for the AX2 Updated July 2018: If you like the AX2 then you’ll like the AX2R Terrex. A few things to note though. I found they run a half size smaller than the AX2. I also found the fabric weave to be slightly tighter making the shoe somewhat warmer than the AX2. The tighter weave also meant the shoe fit more snuggly and required a break-in period rather than having a perfect fit right out of the box like the AX2. Awesome shoe! First off….. Most complaints ive seen here are from large, flat footed people. Where they are failing and/or wearing quickly shows the tale tale signs of someone who has arch issues, “fat” feet or Should be wearing something with velcro… I’ve walked at least 50 miles in them in the last 5 days since they arrived.
