When you’re away from home and want some added comfort to your cot or sleeping bag, try an ALPS self inflating air pad. A free stuff sack, compression straps, and repair kit are included with every pad… something many other companies make you pay extra for.

Didn’t last This is a really comfortable pad. I loved it until I started walking up on the ground – mattress deflated. I thought “no problem, just find and patch the hole”. So, I put it underwater to find the hole. To my surprise it didn’t have one hole, it was leaking from about a hundred tiny holes all over the mattress. It’s as if the materials just degraded and no longer holds air. It’ll hold me off the ground for about 2.5 hours. I’ve probably camped with it 5 times over a couple years.

Pack Camping/Hiking – YES. Casual/Car camping – NO. I’ve got a comfort series and then I bought this one for my wife to join me for camping. Make no mistake, these are better than sleeping directly on the ground, but just barely. This thing will not greatly improve your quality of sleep while camping. It’s just not thick or padded enough. I’ve camped for decades.. and you never really sleep that great on the ground. The best sleep you can expect for the great outdoors, short of bringing a large inflatable mattress, is a hammock…

No surprises, pretty big but does its job. Did its job, was comfortable and easy to roll. For the future I’d like one that packs smaller but for my first and the price it worked.
