Serves its Purpose It’s good if you’re using it for Geometry and such,but the glass case did break in half on my backpack from separate reasons. Something else is that if you mess with the wheel, and the screws, they do become very loose
Maybe I got a lemon I hesitate to make a blanket statement about this product because maybe I got a defective one. The lead appeared to be broken when it arrived and even though I unscrewed the holder, I could not remove the lead. So I thought I would just switch out the lead for the pencil holder. I unscrewed that part and could not completely remove the screw to remove the lead holder. So I was stuck. I just returned it and got a different brand that snaps down so the arms don’t move. Good compass at a good price for the above average hobbyist I bought this compass for my art-hobbyist husband. He was very pleased. The packaging of this product is a bit iffy, the two halves of the hard plastic case do snap together, but loosely. For selling/shipping purposes, the two halves of the case were taped together on two sides. Mine arrived with tape on only one side, but all the pieces where there, so it wasn’t a big deal. I recommend finding another way to store this compass after it arrives.
