Fantastic knife I love the saddle mountain skinner from Benchmade. It’s marketed for hunting, but I use it as a camp/ bushcraft knife. I have always used carbon steel knives for bushcraft, so I was skeptical and concerned about this stainless s30v steel being too brittle/chipping. So far, I have been impressed with this knife. The tip and edge of the blade have held up well under conditions that would break a lesser stainless knife. I was thrilled at how sharp the edge stayed after some rough use. It…

Almost perfect I have used this knife for 4 years as my primary hunting knife in Montana and really like it, it’s not perfect. I would give it 4.75 if that was an option. I have used it to process at least 10 big game animals in that time. The S30V is great, the ergonomics are great, the blade shape is perfect for skinning/quartering, the jimping on the blade is perfect the handle is thin but perfect and removable if for some reason you want to take it off. Not everyone will love the size, it is on the bigger…

I own the Emissary, the 470-1, and the bone collector folder. These knives are all folding knives and I must admit I have never seen a folding knife made as well as a Benchmade (particularly the Emissary and the 470-1).So when I decided to look for a good general purpose hunting knife that I could use for field…
