I’d say these poles are a good buy if you’re doing very light hiking and not … Lasted me through two weeks of light use while hiking the JMT. I normally don’t use trekking poles, but brought them for river crossings and steep, technical climbs, so they were stowed away more often than not. I loaned them to a friend when we climbed Mt. Whitney a couple weeks ago and one of the adjustable locks quit locking. We taped it up and went on our merry way.

I have arthritis in my knees and old injuries in my legs that often prevent me from hiking long distances or hiking through terr I would pay so much more that $39 for these poles. I used them for the first time in the Ouachita National Forrest, which has very rough and rocky terrain and frequent extreme changes in elevation. I have arthritis in my knees and old injuries in my legs that often prevent me from hiking long distances or hiking through terrain like that found in the Ouachita mountains. That is no longer a concern with these poles. They are so effective, in fact, that I was actually able to remove the knee…

Great Poles & Great Value First purchased these poles 4 years ago at Costco and have hiked 100s of miles with them. Very happy with them and have since purchased another pair from Amazon. Agree with the PROs others have listed – lite weight, cork grips, functionality, dependability & value. The CONs limited to carbide tips fall out. I have kept using the poles with out the tips and they still work fine. The remaining metal wears slowly.
