Great! I turned this cooler into a sous vide tub by cutting a round hole in the top for the sous vide unit to go through. I use this for ribs and other large meals that I sous vide. This thing keeps the water hot long after the sous vide shuts off.
They don’t make them like they used to… I had this identical cooler, wore out after 12 years, so this was perfect, or so i thought. The hinges are junk, i put the ones from my old one on it. I have this cooler to sit on at lunch, no problems with the old lid. I need to say I’m only 145 lbs. The new lid collapsed in on itself, if i could get a better lid i would. They don’t make them like they used to.
works for what we need it for, but wish the handles were more secure/attached better. That’s the first thing to break. I’m not a fan of the way the handle connects (falls off after a while, hard to fix, and then it becomes useless. But the size and shape is perfect for what we need so we keep buying them and trying to get them to last as long as possible. The old style used to have handles that screwed in and those lasted! But those are no longer available…
