Design flaw, not correctable The front end of the axe near the tip is almost 1/8″ to 1/4″ thick and they tried to form the cutting tip in less than 1/4″. The result is a very large bevel angle, probably bigger than 90 degrees. I tried to use a file to sharpen the tip. But it doesn’t help. Even the tip is sharp it still can’t cut because of this large bevel angle. If you own a bench grinder, you might be able to grind the bevel angle down to an acceptable range. But then again, the heat generated from this…

Over 2 Years of use Got mine in The Summer of 2010. Its Held up nicely, But is Quite rusty and Even though walmart carries them religiously, It is still possible to buy them online.

Nice, inexpensive hand axe that is shipped ready to use I received this Coleman Camp axe today and am pleased to report that it did come with a usable. edge. Perhaps some of the other reviewers need some instruction on sharpening an axe. (go to the.wikihow webpage under “Sharpen-an-Axe”)
