XXS is way too long for an almost 5 year old who is in the 95th percentile in height Love the pants but the sizing is way off. Other pants that I have purchased from Columbia in XXS Youth have fit well, but this one is off in both length and in waist. I have had to cinch it in quite a lot (very thankful for the adjustable waist) but there is no saving the extra 2-3 inches in length in the legs. This material does not hold up to be rolled up very well unfortunately (I may just have to tack the rolled up legs up at the edges to keep them there).
Great pants; boo Amazon quality control! Super annoyed with your quality control Amazon. I ordered a medium and received an xl. Not gonna work for my son starting camp next week so looks like we will spend our money locally. Otherwise pants are nice, lightweight, perfect for our intended purpose. Unfortunately the XL size 18 you sent will not work for my 7 year old.

He has a tendency to fall into creeks when playing on the edge haha so I love that he doesn’t have to hike in wet clothes. They fit great and have the high quality I would expect from Columbia, we will be buy more!
