Dorotea Ceramics is inspired by the beauty of nature and artist Carolina Silva’s connection to the outdoors. This connection translates into ceramic pieces that acknowledge the value of the handmade and the imperfect. The patterns, colors and irregularities of each piece are drawn from the observation of natural growth and a curiosity about the botanical world, where flowers search for light and harmony with joy. The work follows this peaceful search from the artists’ hands to its place on your table. This beautiful collection of dinnerware and accessories features organic, handmade-inspired shapes that have subtle pops of whimsical color. Crafted from high-quality stoneware, there may be slight imperfections or variations in design and dimensions. Finished by hand, each piece features a delicate, recessed floral pattern and is carefully hand-painted allowing for slight differences in the glaze that add to the artisanal beauty.

I ordered a setting for 8, so the 2 pink plates/bowls aren’t even the same shade/color. The dishes are heavy. They were packaged very well, and all came without damage.
MADE IN CHINA Pretty and generously sized with a charming design. However, they are made in China, and are decidedly not handmade. At $12 each, worth the price (pending how they do in the dishwasher). Still, take heed: these objects are not created in the way that their advertising suggests, and are decidedly not handmade.

The design is lovely, the plates themselves are very nice but these items are made in China, which for me detracts from the the whole idea of buying local, supporting an artist and enjoying something hand made.I do think there is some trickery in the advertising and marketing of these products, which is disappointing, so I wanted to help be clear about what youâre really getting. They are still nice plates, just…
