Is it a toy?? [NOTE] This is for the new mid-2017 â3rd Generationâ Flir One which is not available to the public until August 14, 2017.As an ordinary homeowner I never thought I could justify the cost of a Flir thermal imaging device. Sure there are a lot of things that it could be useful for, maybe even save some money on energy costs by identifying and correcting thermal leaks, but $300-600 or more didn’t seem to be a justifiable expense. Great device- works excellent This works great. I think the negative reviews here are extremely critical.You do not have to login each time you want to use this, period. It’s required on initial use for warranty registration. Company stood behind their product I’ve updated my review from Oct 28 because something important happened. In my original review I explained how i had a gen2. worked great at first. then after the battery ran dawn because i didn’t use it, it would no longer take a charge. the battery design is defective. the battery can’t be replaced. so now its a paperweight. and that’s why i didn’t recommend buying it.
