Great gps. Have used many GPS units over the years during my job as a Game Warden. Have a consulting business now since retiring and needed a GPS unit to map out shooting incident scenes. I have got to say this is the best and most user friendly unit that I have ever used. Having a camera in the unit makes documenting a location or an object instantly. Great product!
Overall a very nice GPS for hiking. I ordered the 680t to replace a 2 yr. old Oregon 550t that crashed and died. The larger screen and GLONASS capability was the main reason I went with the Montana series. So far the unit has performed as advertised and overall, I like the 680t more than the Oregon 550t. The larger screen performs well and is easier to see. I haven’t noticed much difference with GLONASS versus GPS but it is nice to have the ability. The 1 year Birdseye subscription is nice also. It does both!the 680T acquires satellites much faster than my other Garmin units and will be with me on all my hikes from now on.I have an old 76CSX that works fine, but it can’t compare to the big screen of the 680t and all the new features.The camera takes pretty good pictures with the added benefit that they are geo-tagged and they show up on your computer when you get home and look at your trek.
