What a disappointment! I purchased this GPS for my wife. And because I love my wife, I will not be passing this along to her as originally intended. The problem lies with a User Manual that would have been better-written by a 3rd Grader, edited by a 2nd Grader and OK’d for publication by a 1st Grader in addition to a corresponding, incredibly non-intuitive, menu system on the device itself. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this device to anyone without Psychic abilities (including my wife). Hopefully, Garmin…

I wish I had my old eTrex30 back [Updated 10 July 2017] At the moment, I cannot recommend the Garmin Oregon 700. I will admit that I have only tested it on one recent excursion, and that I am still working my way through its many configuration menus, but my main disappointment has to do with marking waypoints. If future software updates address my issues, I will update this review.

Disappointing My Oregon 700 has proven to be a great disappointment. I’ve had Garmin products in the past that I really liked, and I was looking forward to some of the new features on the Oregon 700. At least one of the new features—bluetooth connectivity with iPhones and Android phones—is not working well at all on my Oregon 700.
