Automatic Dimming Mirror Gentex Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors. Gentex automatic dimming mirrors are based on the science of electrochromics, which is the process of reversibly darkening materials by applying electricity. During nighttime driving, the mirrors use a combination of sophisticated sensors and electronic circuitry to detect glare from rearward approaching vehicles and darken accordingly to eliminate the glare and preserve driver vision. They are popular, active crash-avoidance safety feature making nightime driving safer for vehicles throughout the world. PathPoint Compass System The mirror’s compass and outside temperature displays are features of the PathPoint Compass System developed by Johnson Controls, a Johnson Controls Company. The compass is a self-calibrating flux gate compass that eliminates manual calibration by the factory, dealer or customer. It detects and compensates for magnetic anomalies caused by bridges, subways and large steel structures. It also compensates for actual changes in vehicle magnetics. Calibration data is stored in memory, which eliminates any requirement for recalibration after losing battery power. The electronic compass shows the direction you are heading in an easy to read digital display located above the mirror. The compass is an extremely accurate computer that displays vehicle headings of N, NW, W, SW, S, SE, E and NE. Outside Temperature Display The outside temperature display provides you with a digital temperature reading. When the temperature is at or below 37 degrees the display will indicate \”ICE\” for a period of one minute. This feature cautions you to anticipate road-icing conditions. This is a complete kit that includes the mirror, wiring harness, temperature sensor and complete installation and operating instructions.

Perfect for 2nd Gen Nissan Frontier SE The factory mirror in my 2006 Nissan Frontier was getting old – silver mirror layer around edges was receding and I could never keep the mirror aligned “just right.” This Gentex installed easily, slid right on the the button, and I lightly tightened the T-20 screw. I hooked the ground up to one of the headliner screws found above the sunglass holder/map light box. I ran the temp probe wire down the driver-side a-pillar, then out the firewall grommet behind the brake booster. I…

Frustrated! I received this mirror with the wiring included. I installed on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. I had wiring already in the jeep with a seven pin in it. I just plugged it into the mirror and the compass worked but I received an OC code for the temperature. I know the wiring provided only has 4 of the seven pins used to I ended up popping 4 wires out, one at a time. Still had the OC code. So, I ripped all the old wiring out and installed the wire included. After 3 hours of installation, I plugged the…

GENTEX GENK20A – How Do You Wire the TEMP PROBE – Help is here My GENK20A kit (bought April 2019) did not come with wiring instructions. The temp probe came with connector pins on the wire ends – ready for me to plug into the 7 pin mirror connector. Which pins go where? That information is missing from the kit, and I couldn’t find it on the web either. Fortunately, my Uncle just got a new truck and it came with this exact same mirror in it, so I unplugged his mirror connector and used my multi-meter to figure out each pin.I then tested my mirror…
