Built on the same platform as the original, the updated Bear Grylls Scout folding knife replaces its gray areas with a sleek black, both on the handle and the blade. Additionally, the blade itself receives an update with a full fine edge. The Scout is a light, sturdy clip folder with a lockback structure for safe use. Its dual thumbstuds let you open it quickly with one hand, and its rubber overmold handle has a grippy texture to ensure that it stays in your hand during use, no matter what conditions you’re facing. It has a pocket clip that can slide neatly within a pocket or attach to a belt. The pommel contains a lanyard hole for additional securing options. Included with this ready tool is Bear’s Priorities of Survival pocket guide.

Not bad for what you spend Nice for the price. Mine came in an already-opened package that was crudely taped back together. Did I get someone’s return/reject? The knife is a bit difficult to start open, but once started the action is smooth and the blade locks up firmly. No blade-play and blade is well-centered in the well. There was a pronounced wire edge out of the package, but a few minutes stoning and stropping brought it up to shaving sharp. It is a good size and weight for EDC. Overall, I like it.

So far so good. The only thing I don’t like it the … So far so good. The only thing I don’t like it the color because when putting this in my pocket with the clip, it’s noticeable where I’d rather it be all black so no one can spot it. The other thing to that would be that the bright orange color makes it so it’s wont get lost.

Disappointed, a bit overpriced. I bought this knife for a work knife. I needed a knife that could take abuse and still keep its edge. It also had to fit nicely in a pocket, be able to open and close with one hand, and, as a bonus, look good. Knowing the quality of Gerber knives, I decided on this knife.
