A compact piece of emergency gear We own two of these. Originally we used them when backpacking. Now we mostly use them as part of our emergency gear with our side-by-side ATV. A side benefit is that my wife (who gets cold easily) uses one as a lap blanket, which keeps the wind away from her lags; by draping one side over the center console (which gets very warm) she has a lower-body heating system.

good quality product These are fairly lightweight and quite compact. We used these as extra insulation from the tent/ground floor to our sleeping pads and sleeping bags. It made a large difference for our pads (several degrees) when camping in 40 degree weather (especially when the ground was wet).
