This was my main use as I plan to use the Garmin only occasionally on different boats, not as my main navigation tool. I expect this would work well if you plan to attach and use on same vessel.

Typically terrific Garmin product Used as a mount for a backup GPS, a handheld unit independent of boat’s batteries. Easily mounted to my console and very adjustable for unobstructed viewing. Can never have too many GPS units especially when navigating 78 mi of open water in the Florida Keys where aids to navigation are rare! This mount provides better stability than trying to hold a small unit by hand.
