The Honeywell 300 CFM indoor evaporative air cooler offers an energy efficient cooling option when the air is hot with low humidity, such as desert areas like the southwestern United States (recommended humidity level is 60% or less for maximum efficiency). Honeywell evaporative air coolers do not require power hungry components like compressors. The low power consumption (only 102 watts) translates into significant savings on energy bills compared to using air conditioners. Just unpack, add water/ice, place near open door or window, plug it in, and use. This unit is ideal for indoor use in open environments with adequate cross ventilation up to 175 square feet. Four fan speeds and oscillating louvers evenly distribute cool air through the honeycomb cooling media while the carbon dust filter cleanses the air. One should not expect an evaporative air cooler to work as effectively as refrigerated air conditioning. However, the advantages of the evaporative air cooler over refrigerated air conditioning are: low purchase cost, low electricity usage, and maximum portability. For those living in more humid climates, consider portable air conditioning units or window air conditioners.

Great swamp cooler!! Will not work for humid areas. First things first- this WILL NOT WORK for you if you live in a humid area. I’m from the southwest where swamp coolers are more common than air conditioners in houses so I knew exactly how this worked before I purchased it. I currently live in Montana where almost no houses have any sort of air conditioning so this was a perfect alternative. I use it only in my room (maybe an 11 x 12 room) and it works AMAZINGLY. You fill it up with water (I throw some ice in there to make it really cold) turn…
So glad I bought this! I was nervous to purchase this because of all of the negative reviews. I rent and cannot install a portable a/c unit in the window so I dediced to give this a try. I am glad I did. I can finally sleep peacefully and comfortably. I have no regrets about buying this at all. My bedroom gets to be 80 degrees in the morning and is stuffy and hot. Even at night the temperature isn’t comfortable and I was constantly waking up in the middle of the night because it was so hot. I had five fans going at…
I cut my A/C bill in half.the first month I do have central A/C but it’s very expensive to run, so this works for me on all but the hottest of days. I like that it doesn’t require a hose hook-up, so I can wheel it around anywhere, even outside. There’s a drawer in the back that slides open to pour the water in. Adding a couple gallons once per day is about my average. There’s a water “gauge” near the bottom, but I’ve learned not to trust it as the float gets stuck occasionally. When the water gets low it will beep a few…
