First high end axe and very pleased with the quality First high end axe and very pleased with the quality. I don’t own a Gransfor or a Wetterlings axe but I heard great reviews with all 3 companies. I decided to go with Hultafors because of the price and reviews I been finding. I decided to go with the oldest axe producer giving me some confidence who they are and comfort knowing they are around for a reason. Overall great axe!.

Asymmetrical ‘Right Handed’ Bevel Grind? I have not been able to find this with any other reviews or literature online so I thought I would post it here. My axe came with an asymmetrical bevel grind found on carving and furniture axes. Very unusual and ultimately a deal breaker for me.That would be fine if that was the whole story but the grind is not consistent in that way through the edge. At the bottom it finishes in a symmetrical edge, which mean the edge wanders from off center right to center. I am not able to…

Poor Quality Control It came sharp but that’s about all I can find positive about this axe. Grain orientation near 90°, gaps at back of the eye and so bad on the front I can see light thru it. On top the handle has been splintered on one side from the wedge being driven in, there are gaps where the handle and wedge are too short. This is an axe that costs $139. I’ve got $20 axes hung better than this. If this is Hults Bruk quality I can’t imagine how they are still in business.
