Inexpensive, giant, cool As many people have mentioned, the hinges, latch, and handles are relatively flimsy plastic. I’ve used a lot of these igloo coolers over the years and they’re all the same. If you’re gentle, everything but the hinges will hold up. The hinges will eventually break no matter what, but high quality replacements are available. This cooler was cheaper than something half its size at my local store. I kept camping food in it for three days, and the small quantity of ice within only finished melting…
For seven hours or there abouts it worked fine. The other day we needed to clean out … We bought this for shuffling food back and forth from our home to the cabin. It is less than a seven hour drive. After a day and a half several items inside had defrosted. We had it loaded with frozen goods, ice blocks and ice cubes, we put it (without opening) in the air conditioned house, but still, we had defrosted sausage,hotdogs and shrimp…
Great multi-use cooler Igloo coolers are just good keep cold coolers. This is a large cooler and the innovative front lid opening is great. My husband has a kegerator and has been trying to devise a way to take a keg camping without too much fuss. This is perfect. It is pretty lightweight while empty and keeps things cold for quite a long time. If you are just using it as a cooler it will hold a LOT of drinks, food etc. The front panel opens very smoothly and closes tight. The only drawback that I can see is I wish…
