The size is perfect for our needs We got this chest for our 5 day road trip and, together with 2 ice packs (which we would put in the freezer at the hotel at night), it really kept everything cold, without the need of extra regular ice. The size is perfect for our needs, and it has a small pocket compartment!
Pleased. Would have preferred it slightly wider and not as tall, but that is the only negative. The lid snaps tightly shut (have to use two hands to open it), has a small opening for dry foods which is helpful. A 7 lb bag of ice filled it 3/4 full with four (4) 18 oz ( 532 ml) water bottles standing up on the bottom. A ten lb bag of ice would fill it completely. It was 88 degrees in Los Angeles yesterday and my car was in the sun all day. Only half the ice melted from purchase at 10 AM to emptying…
