Downgraded I have been using the Kelty sunshade not just for shade but for rain cover for many years. The old models which are now discontinued were much sturdier and held up to storm and rain if properly anchored. This new model is much more lightweight. easy to carry I’ve had an older version of this product and now this one as well. Pros: large foot print, withholds against strong ocean winds, you can (or at least I can) basically stand it the middle, not too heavy, easy to carry. Cons: not a one person set up, old one had pockets to put sand down in to help weigh it down, when poles are far from each other the sight is limited.That being said, I burn in a matter of minutes so to be able to sit all day, read a book, keep the coolers shaded…
Keeps the sun off for sure, not so good in the wind Day one at the beach wasn’t so breezy and it was awesome. Day two was windy and I didn’t put it up because nothing would have held up. Day three I put it up, pulled out the guy wires and attached one more and it worked for a while but the wind came up and it became a large green and tan parachute. I had positioned a corner into the wind to try and cut the wind a little and give the wind less surface area to no avail. For the intended purpose of keeping the sun off of ones self it’s great, works…
