Nice, lightweight, portable camping mess kit, perfect for Scouting camp-outs. Needed a mess kit for myself and my son for a Boy Scout camping trip (just overnight), and didn’t want to waste money on a plastic set, even aluminum was less than desirable, as it’s pretty malleable. I came across the Laken set, and thought I’d give it a try, as it appeared to be compact and self contained, and was stainless steel. An added bonus was the set was made in Spain, and not in China. While I doubt this is Toledo Steel, Spanish steel cutlery ranks pretty high, and that definitely was…

Great Mess Kit! Fantastic mess kit; be prepared for a tight fit when attempting to put everything back together! I was able to squeeze in an additional bandanna and corkscrew/can-opener, but there is very little spare room. Well designed, compact, and easy to clean. I have taken this set camping twice now and cooked in it both times–no issue. Just remember to take your clamp off and place it well away from the fire while actually heating your grub.

Four Stars Would purchase again.Year update: I tossed out the clamps – kinda flimsy and more of a hassle as it has issues fitting into the pot. However, it was used, and used and used. Still holding up and has yet to show rust spots.
