Designed especially for Light My Fire by Scandinavian designer Joachim Nordwall, the MealKit 2.0 has become a modern classic. The colorful MealKit 2.0 has been updated and expanded to include 8 utilitarian pieces: 1 lid/plate, 1 plate/bowl, 1 SnapBox original with lid (170 ml), 1 SnapBox Oval with lid (320 ml), 1 Pack-Up Cup (260 ml), 1 cutting board/strainer, 1 Spork original and a carry harness. The MealKit 2.0 packs up into its own container and is held together with the harness, plus it even floats. Tight-fitting, snap-lock lids keep contents inside the waterproof SnapBoxes instead of all over your bag, and the internal measuring lines allow you to bring only what you need. The Pack-up-Cup expands when you are ready for a hot or cold drink and collapses when the meal is over while the versatile cutting board/strainer lets you chop your vegetables and strain the pasta when it’s done cooking. And when dinner is ready, just use the plate and bowl to eat a delicious meal with the Spork original that’s a combo spoon-fork-knife. Great “go to” field mess kit Light weight, sturdy, and compact. Took it on a two week youth camping trip. About 1/2 the group had this set or a similar one from this company. Many had been using for years as their “go to” field mess kit. It’s a bit large for a long lightweight backpacking trip but perfect for all other outings.
Love this product and company! I’m really glad I bought this for my hiking/camping trip. It is very durable and because it all fits together it was easy to pack without taking up too much room. It’s also very lightweight so it didn’t add unnecessary weight to my pack. I really like that material used for the collapsible cup. It acts almost like a hand warmer when you add a hot drink too it, without it being too much heat to hold. This was very nice with my coffee in the morning after a cold night.
We love these kits and they are great for all around … We love these kits and they are great for all around use at home, for picnics, and camping. They have been very durable as well, standing up to plenty of use, abuse, and cleaning from our boy scouts and family. The weak point is the spork. It is only plastic, so expect that it will not take a ton of abuse, but when looking for add-ons, check out the titanium sporks from Light My Fire as a good replacement.
