New design is the opposite of improvement. We have the previous older version of this lunch canister. This new lid design with a shorter diameter is actually even harder to open than the old design with a slightly wider top. The problem is that this new lid design has shallower grip ridges/circle shapes and the plastic is more slick. The span of my hand fully wide open from tip of thumb to tip of pinky is a little over 7.25″ and it takes a lot of effort to open this canister. LunchBots Thermal keeps food warm & delicious As with their other products, LunchBots Wide Thermal 16oz is a great product that our family is already fighting over to use. I first used it for a picnic with the kids where I cooked my eggs & spinach and left it in the container for almost 6 hours. It was still warm to eat and very easy to eat out of. Perfect… If you want a time capsule nobody will ever open. But if it does â LunchBots have your back. What a disappointment… First off – it came in the wrong color. Ordered purple, received blue. School starts tomorrow, so we decided to keep it. Second problem – this thing is *very* hard to open, even if you use just a bit of force when closing it.
