What Happened to the Quality Guys? I hate to do it but I can’t recommend this version of the Merrell Chameleon Stretch. This is my third pair of Merrell Chameleons, second pair of stretches. The last two were worn nearly daily for several years each. I love Merrell shoes but the quality of the liner inside these shoes is terrible. I have owned these for one month and already the inner liner near the heal is worn thru. Not just a little, but there is a one inch hole. Merrell cheaped out – plus several quality issues – with three pairs These look nice and are ok. However, I think they really cheaped out compared to my Chameleon 3 shoes, which I was very happy with. There is no loop on the front/tongue area; I feel like I’m going to rip the rear loop off sooner or later trying to force my foot in and they are harder to put on. A lot of the tough plastic was replaced with fabric and mesh. I noticed that they changed tho sole from Vibram to their own “select grip.” I am not very impressed and will definitely look around at…
