WIDE 2 vent vs WIDE fst: different widths the 2vent hiking shoe and the merrill fst are very similar: low cut, light weight day hikers. It’s been years since i bought new balance, but when i did i took the 4E. the 2vent wide is perfect for me. the fst wide is too narrow- more like a 2E. i tried a half size up in the fst’s and they were longer, but not much wider.
Excellent hiking shoes I always get nervous when manufacturers change something that’s been working well for me. Merrell MOABs have been my all around favorite hiking shoe (and general athletic shoe replacement for everyday wear) for decades. Other than small changes to the color combinations/outward appearance I can’t really tell the difference between these shoes and the original MOABs. And that’s a good thing. Learned something about “Wide” sizing! I’m a first-time Merrell customer, and wear a 10.5 (sometimes 10.5W) men’s shoe. Seeing several comments online that Merrill’s run true to size, I first tried both a 10.5 and a 10.5W Moab 2 Vent Hiking Shoe. While the 10.5W fit better, in both cases my toes were pressed against the front. So I went up to an 11, and my toes were still touching the front, not as much but still uncomfortable.
