For Swim Coaches My purpose for waterproof shoes is coaching swimming. I used to go through a few pairs of sneakers each year. Frequent splashes really breaks down a shoe. One winter, because of the snow, I wore my Merrell boots into practice. I noticed that my feet were perfectly, warm and comfortable. I have been wearing Merrells exclusively for swim team practices! WIDE fst vs WIDE 2 vent: different widths the 2vent hiking shoe and the fst are very similar: low cut, light weight day hikers. It’s been years since i bought new balance, but when i did i took the 4E. the 2vent wide is perfect for me. the fst wide is too narrow- more like a 2E. i tried a half size up in the fst’s and they were longer, but not much wider.
