NOT WATERPROOF! Good comfortable hiking boots. So why only two stars? Because I already had a pair of Merrell Moab Ventilator boots for desert hiking. I needed a pair of waterproof hiking boots. These are listed as waterproof, not water resistant. They even have a little metal waterproof tag attached to the boot. These boots are not waterproof! I hiked through wet grass and my socks got soaked. Don’t even try to wear these in an area where you will be hiking over streams.

Great boots! I purchased these boots for my husband who is a swimming pool service technician. They are comfortable enough to wear on his 15 hour shifts and they keep his feet cool and dry. This is a huge problem for him and his men. Their feet are constantly wet from dealing with pool issues and rain. He has tried many other brands and styles but these are the best so far…Would highly recommend them!

May need to order half a size up. My Vasque boots served me well for over six years, but it was time for a replacement pair of general hiking boots–the heels were worn off! So after some research I found that my price-point just couldn’t get me the same these days (needed both Vibram soles and Gore-Tex materials), so I settled on Merrell Moab Mid. While it doesn’t have Gore-Tex materials, I settled on this pair anyway and just sprayed the surface with some waterproofing spray.
