Olympic Fractional Plates 1.25 lb (Pair) – Set of 2 x 1.25 Pound Weight Plates, For Olympic Bars – Micro Loading 2.5 Pound
Don’t Waste Another Workout Lifting the Same Weights Over and Over Again
Progressive tension overload is the most important factor when it comes to building strength and size. It refers to progressively increasing tension levels in the muscle fibers over time. That is, lifting progressively heavier and heavier weights. Basically, your body will not change or improve unless you force it to.
The Problem
Unfortunately, most gyms only have weight plates starting at 2.5 lbs and sometimes only 5 lbs! The jump in weight is simply too high and results in bad programming. It can even lead to injuries!
Set a New PR Every Workout
To force your muscles to adapt, you must provide a stimulus greater than that to which they have already adapted. The Iron Bull 1.25lb Fractional Plates allow weight increments of 2.5 pound to allow progressive overload on any exercise. And, while it may only seem like a tiny improvement, it’s EXACTLY what you need to do n order to prove to your body that it needs to improve.
The Bottom Line
If you want to get any degree of positive results from your workout routine, progressive overload is the absolute key. The Iron Bull Fractional Plates come in a kit of 2 plates allowing 2.5 lb increments. They perfectly fill in the gap between having to use the same weight over and over again and increasing weight by too much and injuring yourself. Get yourself a kit of fractional plates now. You won’t regret it.

Good product, but different than pictured. These weights serve their purpose. On my kitchen scale, they weighed 1.32 (+6%) and 1.24 (-1%) pounds. I didn’t see a margin of error in the description, but I feel this is absolutely acceptable (and error may have also been from my scale). The only reason I am not giving five stars is because the weights have a different coating than that pictured. I have no reason to believe mine are any less durable than those pictured, but it frustrates me when the picture doesn’t match the item.
Serves the Purpose Perfectly Great product for a good price. Some reviewers have mentioned that the finish is not the same as the picture. This doesn’t matter to me at all. I would have been fine with raw steel and no finish at all. These fit perfect on a 2″ olympic barbell. A few reviewers also mentioned that they weren’t exactly 1.25 lbs. They are definitely close enough for linear progression strength training. If you are using these for precision measurement, then you bought the wrong product.Hard…
still fits nicely between 0lbs and 5lbs when trying to break plateaus … These are slightly heavy. I measured each of them. One is 580 grams, or 1.29 lbs. The other is 584 grams, or 1.3 lbs. That adds up to just under 2.6 lbs total, so about +1/10th of a pound when combined. Not a deal breaker at this weight though, still fits nicely between 0lbs and 5lbs when trying to break plateaus on linear progression. One very positive thing I can say is that the hex shape makes these things functional on some gym machines that don’t have a 2.5lb increment. I am…
