I LOVE THIS BEANIE! This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for. It keeps my head nice and warm while diving. And it keeps the sun off my , ummmmm, thinning hair and scalp when I’m preparing for the dive and afterwards. Make sure you cut a couple of dime sized holes in the top in order to create a vent for air to escape — air from your regulator will tend to creep up the side of your face and accumulate in the beanie. The vent holes solved that problem. AWESOME BEANIE!!!!
Great quality but that it runs large (it is sized for men) I’m a woman with a 21 1/2 inch size head and ordered a small. It fit more loosely than I would like but OK. I would say the Small is definitely a man’s small. This probably will be a bit big for use with water sports but since it is a loose fit I can use it as a running hat in winter over my earbuds. For swimming I will probably need to put a lycra swim cap on top or underneath it to make it stay on.
Great for SCUBA I wear this instead of a tuck-in hood or hooded wetsuit for scuba diving in Southern California (LA/OC/Catalina).It keeps my head warm in temperatures above 55 degrees F (13 C). If it was any colder than that, I would recommend wearing a standard diving hood.If you are buying this for something other than surfing or scuba, you should know that it muffles most sound, so it would be difficult to use in a group setting where you are talking to each other above water…
