Not same as picture advertised While the picture shows this bivy standing up by itself – this is really just a minimalist bivy to keep you dry. There are no poles, and the bivy lays on your face – unless you buy some string, and attach it to a tree limb above (ridiculous). The bivy shown in the picture is a $250 bivy with poles so it stands by itself. Bait/switch? False advertising? Call it what you will…but the product isn’t the one shown in the picture.

DOES NOT allow using poles to prop up bivy As noted by another buyer this DOES NOT come with poles and DOES NOT have a way to attach poles. If you want poles you’ll have to upgrade to one of the other models (I believe Helium or Alpine?). I have not used mine yet but will test it out this season. I am concerned if it rains the lack of poles will be an issue since rain will NOT drain off the bivy and could puddle up. Also, the lack of poles might prevent body condensation and breath from exiting through the breathable membrane. I’ll…
