Handy and much more cost-effective than refillable ice bag I can’t say enough good things about these gel ice packs! The hook/loop closure (“Velcro” to all of us laypersons) sticks really well to the fleecy surface of the gel pack cover, and the elastic band is plenty wide enough to be comfortable if it’s wrapped around ankle/knee. I bought these to use post-surgically instead of an ice water recirculator thingy (I am certain that’s the technical name of the doohickey my orthopedist’s clinic wanted to sell to me following my ankle tendon…
Perfect for runners As a long distance runner, I sometimes have knee pain or tight calves. This ice pack was the ideal temperature and shape for treating those areas. The strap helped keep it securely in a good location. The gel pack stayed cold for a relatively long time, without being so cold that I felt the need to shift it or take a break, as with traditional ice packs. I would definitely recommend this to other athletes. So glad it includes two packs, so you can rotate through them!
Comfortable and effective. Helps with my back problems and is useful for other things too I’m very pleased with this product. I’ve been using the packs mainly to help with muscle pain in my lower back. I like to take them out of the pack and wrap them in a thin cloth to do this, but the cover and strap looks like it would be great if you wanted to strap it to your shoulder or leg. They’re very malleable and retain heat well so they’re quite comfortable to lie down on for a while and do a great job of alleviating the muscle tightness.
