Designed for activities where stealth is key (hunting, fishing, nature watching…), the TACTIKKA + headlamp offers a powerful 250 lumens of lighting. It features a very long burn time of 260 hours and great lighting versatility: proximity or focused lighting for movement. Plus red lighting to preserve night vision and ensure stealth. TACTIKKA + is also a HYBRID headlamp that is compatible with the CORE rechargeable battery (sold separately).

Much easier to change batteries. No gasket. Bigger control button. Red LED instead of window. The latch on the battery compartment has been redesigned compared to the previous generation. Much easier to change batteries vs prying open the small side latch in the previous generation. (I managed to break the latch on one of my old ones.) For my application, water-tightness doesn’t matter, so the loss of the gasket is not an issue for me, but will be for some other users. The single, large control button is an improvement over the two tiny buttons before. I don’t need the red night-vision…

Not military serviceable Coming from using Petzl TACTIKKA XP 1, I expected this to be up to the same standards. The light is very bright and has a built in red lens but lacks waterproofing/ environmental o-rings found on the other model. This light will fail in the rain or dusty conditions. Sending it back.
