I am impressed and pleased with the quality High quality metal which should last beyond my years. I am impressed and pleased with the quality.This certainly beats the app on my phone which requires me to spin the phone several times in each plane before it is usable. I have never felt safe doing those gyrations with my phone. Open the cover and it is ready for use. It has a sighting lens if you need more accuracy.
Really heavy but solid and a great price. This thing is a brick, but if weight is not an issue it’s a really good bang for your buck. It settles fast and smoothly and stays true with a fair amount of movement provided it’s level. If you need accuracy from the clinometer you may want to look at another product – the pendulum on mine sticks, requiring a tap or two to dislodge it. Great for my Military Land Navigation Test. I just used this for the BLC Land Navigation course in Ohio. The Military Compass on Amazon is around $72 and I purchased this in hopes that I could lose it without creating a hubbub with supply at BLC. It was really nice for land navigation using an asthmus.
