They just don’t make things like they used to. Really sick of these things working great and then all of a sudden NOT working. It now spurts water all over the place when I try to turn on the filter. I bought this about ten months ago and THAT was to replace another PUR filter that stopped working as well. And it’s not the part that connects to the faucet, it’s the capsule where the filter fits inside…water just spews EVERYWHERE. Keep Looking I’m reviewing the Chrome filter. So far I’ve owned 2 in the past year, same model, same brand. On my first one it developed a hair line crack on the side and started leaking and was unusable. I owned that one about 6 months before that happened. My second one leaks around the top where you unscrew the cap to access the filter. It started leaking approximately 4 months after purchase. Make sure the ‘type A’ faucet adapter has metal threads, (if this is the adapter you need to use) I have used PUR faucet mount filter systems for years. They have always had some problems with leaking. This model seems to leak less than the other models I have purchased over the years. Upon initial installation the device worked well enough for about a week when it popped off the faucet and would not allow reinstallation perhaps due to stripped plastic threads on the faucet adapter.
