Great customer service This mat has a great firm surface for ironing quilt blocks. It does have a mild odor but seems to work well. I had an issue with an earlier purchase but the company was very prompt in making an exchange. I was very pleased with the prompt customer service to resolve this earlier issue.
Odor!!! This mat had the most horrific odor! Like filthy urine-soaked barnyard wool from confined animals. It was unbelievable! I took it to a quilt retreat, unpackaged it – whoa! I thought it just needed to air out a bit. Wrong. It was so offensive with use (steam or dry iron) that we had to remove it from the room. After a week of fresh air airing out – no difference – just nauseating!
A good value This product arrived on time and in good condition. It was exactly as described by seller. I did not use it immediately. When I did use it I found when applying heat with an iron – an unpleasant odor was quite noticeable. I did some research on line and found that this is not too uncommon when wool is heated. I have aired the mat in the sun for several days, did not help too much – interesting enough, the odor was not transferred to the fabric I ironed. I will continue to ‘air’ out the…
