Is this even a real Kenmore part?? Installed this in our fridge and it didn’t look anything like the genuine Kenmore part we were replacing (aside from the model/shape). It’s been a couple weeks and it still makes a crazy airburst sound everytime we use it and the first glass contains white particulates. We have to dump the first glass everytime we use it and the second still has some particulates, but not as many. We flushed it with gallons and gallons the first day and still got glasses so cloudy with particulates we had to…
It’s not the same I purchased this thinking it would be the same as my original filter. It’s crap. There is an airburst sound when using this filter. I thought their was leaking from my fridge. It’s much slimmer compared to the original one I have. The water tastes awful ever since I replaced it. Don’t buy it. You might as well buy it from sears. It will cost more, but at least you’re getting the real thing.
Check filter if counterfeit I was sent a counterfiet filter. You can tell by the fact they are shrink wrapped. The Genuine OEM filters were never shrink wrapped. Also, check the serial number on the filter. Genuine filters each have a unique serial number etched onto it and no two are the same.
