No locking mechanism. Ridge in center. Wonât stay tight. While it is compact, and easy to fold/unfold, there is no locking mechanism to keep the bed taught and firm. The center posts keeps the fabric tight across the middle while allowing it to sink in between the ends leaving and uncomfortable ridge in spite of padding underneath. (See pics). My daughter could never get comfortable to sleep on it and had to sleep in our bed while on vacation making for a troublesome nightâs sleep for al of us. More reliable than an air mattress We have used and stored these off an on for hotel stays and trips to grandmas. They are durable. They donât close up on the kids when they are sleeping (or standing) on them. It came with a carrying case and a fitted sheet. We researched and used plenty of air mattresses before purchasing these.
