Despite the advent of electronic navigation, the compass remains the cornerstone of any navigation system. Only by coordinating the use of electronic and magnetic navigation can boaters achieve optimal navigation safety, efficiency and effectiveness.

Three Stars Compass is fine, the light is pretty much useless and was surprised it wasn’t LED.
Good compass overall!! This compass seems to be a great except for one thing. When mounted on a 45 degree dash with the compass adjusted to level, the backlighting does not light the heading well. If mounted more vertical, it lights well. As for the compass itself, it is accurate, easy to install and adjust. I fish and navigate the Great Lakes and it does its job.
Great Dash Compass! I installed this in my 18′ runabout (which I use mostly for salmon fishing in the Monterey Bay) and it is the greatest single addition to my boat that I could have made! Had it for three months without any fogging up, the compass is plenty large and very visible at night or early morning. The dash insert allows for the compass to be pivoted up or down before setting into place by almost 45 degrees, which makes setting the viewing of the compass a breeze.
