Rustic Old Fashioned Light Up Lantern

The classic metal lantern. We changed our classic Old Lantern and added an LED light that allows the battery to last much longer. The lantern is black and silver with a rustic finish that makes it perfect for a haunted house, spooky graveyard display or trick-or-treating on Halloween. Truly a year-round decor piece, the Old Lantern is great as a theater prop and for Christmas Caroling. The lantern stands 11″ tall (13.5″ hanging) and runs on 3 AA batteries.

Great vintage feel for decorating, not so great for actual lighting in a room. Giving this 4stars because it was purchased specifically as part of our Christmas decorating. With that purpose in mind it is great! Vintage feel and look. It has a clear glass around it, which I took amber colored translucent glass paint and swished it around in it, and a whit tiny LED bulb at the bottom. The on/off switch is on the very bottom of the lantern, also it is not dimmable.
Streaking to a (disappointing) finish Delivered yesterday and destined to be a display piece in my glass-front kitchen cabinet. The design, construction and scale are all great for my purpose. Overlaying the bronze finish are multi-directional streaks of blackish paint that, I guess, are supposed to lend an antique look. It fails on that score, in my view. A few flaws, but overall great, and great price. As stated by other reviewers, the light gives off a bright white LED glow, not the warm yellow glow as pictured. The color is similar to the photo as well, but with obvious brush strokes and the feeling of acrylic paint on the surface. Still, this is a great, sturdy product that produces a fair amount of light and works well as a theater piece or an in-character piece for a game. It would make a nice centerpiece unlit too. The handle is sturdily secured, so I feel comfortable holding it.
