Not the right fit for me, but my nephew enjoys it. I had originally bought this for myself, and when it came, I realized that it wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. It was quite bulky, and not super comfortable to hold in my admittedly small lady hands. It also looks better in the Amazon photos that in real life — the handle looks fairly cheap and is an odd tannish-lavender color on the edges. I know that’s purely aesthetic and in no way interferes with the usability of the knife, but again, it wasn’t quite what I was picturing in my head…
Outstanding pocket/carving knife I just turned 57years young, , I’v never seen anything like this,, I love it,, really got me stoked, with all that said, knife wasnt very sharp to start with,,, but most people like their own angels on their personal knifes,,, and the v-tool didnt even come close,, the grind was way off had to do some honing work there,, I am not affiliated with any body just so ya don’t think I’m selling anything,,, I have always had either a case or a old timer in my pocket,,, and I can say they can go…
Comparison to a flexcut – the old timer wins, sorry, its true. 5 out of 5 stars. This carving tool is not just an excellent value for the money – it’s an excellent value, period. I own a Flexcut carvin jack, I paid 125.00 for it and to me it was worth every penny at that price. The old timer isn’t just comparable – it’s quite arguably much better. The reason I say the old timer is better is because it’s larger – easier access to the tools, it doesn’t lock – which, in a whittling tool, is not a negative at all since you don’t apply pressure in ways that make the locking…
