Will shatter if it gets cold Received this October 2016 for an Elk Hunting Trip in November. I didn’t use it until November it sat in my basement till my trip. On the first day while cutting up some small pieces of wood for a fire it exploded into three pieces. If you look at my photos and the photos for the review by “that1guy” dated May 31, 2016, you will see my Axe fell apart in the exact same three places his fell apart at. Definitely a design flaw from Schrade! Schrade won’t replace it since I did not buy…

Axe head not strong enough. After single use got many chips in blade. Do not recommend. I only write reviews when I think they will help someone. I feel bad giving this product only 2 stars but feel as though it deserves it. I did a lot of research on ~2 lbs camping/survival hatchets. I decided on this Schrade and took it with me on a 1 night backpacking trip this past weekend. The looks and feel of the hatchet are great, but after chopping about 10 logs (of soft pine) I ended up getting numerous chips and dents in the blade. I am returning the device now and will be getting…
