Quality is low. I purchased this compass to see if the quality issues with this compass were still an issue. I am sorry to say that it is. I am a wilderness navigation instructor and our organization has not been able to recommend this compass to our students since we started having these same issues in 2007. The fit of the bezel is very loose and can rotate independent of the dial. On the compass I received it was off by as much as 3°. Super glue would be required to properly affix the bezel to the dial. If I have compass-needing friends I will recommend they get this one This compass is great! It comes with an instruction manual so it’s easy to use to get good directional information. It’s also nice that it comes with a string so you can keep it around your neck and it won’t get lost. It is durable and doesn’t get messed up by moisture, dirt, or getting dropped on the ground.

Great compass only minor gripe This compass is replacing an older Silva Explorer model from the late 80’s. It works great for sighting and is very easy to keep a bearing in rough terrain. I haven’t had to use this on a night search, so I can’t give feed back on the glow in the dark sighting being brighter than the older compass. But during the day/and in rain it has performed great.
