Experience durability at its peak with the Smartwool Women’s Light Hiking Crew Socks. These socks are built for performance in the highest degree, making them ready for any adventure on your list.

The Smartwool community is a collection of people who believe that time outside is valuable, restorative, and essential for everyone.

When Smartwool started making socks back in 1994, their founders simply wanted to be able to ski longer without getting cold toes.

That’s when they discovered the benefits of Merino wool as a performance fabric. It was soft (softer than any wool they had every felt), moisture-wicking, thermoregulating (warm when it’s cold, and cool when it’s warm), sustainable, and odor-neutralizing- helping to keep feet dry, comfortable, and warm for longer than the synthetic socks they were wearing at the time. It worked so well, in fact, that Smartwool uses it in almost every single item they make.

Smartwool was the first outdoor company to make performance Merino wool ski socks- revolutionizing the category and forever changing the way outdoor enthusiasts viewed their feet.

Smartwool’s whole brand was built on the desire to be comfortable on outdoor adventures-we wanted to go farther and experience more. And that drive continues to fuel everything Smartwool does. From their Merino wool supply chain to the Smartwool advocacy program to how they design their socks and apparel, Smartwool exists to help you play, love, and laugh in the great outdoors as often as you would like.

Nice, heavy socks! I wouldn’t call these “light” I bought these for hiking in the summer. I normally wear the Smart Wool Mountaineering socks in the fall and winter for hiking but since it’s 80 degrees right now and summer, I needed something not quite as heavy as the Mountaineering socks. I think the Hike Light Crew Socks fit the bill nicely. These are NOT light (as in tennis sock light) but still rather thick. These are thick socks and will provide plenty of cushion for hiking in the warmer months with less bulk than the mountaineering…

I think I’d like these more if they fit better I think I’d like these more if they fit better. I bought Medium as suggested by the Smartwool’s website and they were on the large side. Since they were a little too big, my foot moved around too much in my shoe and I got a blister on my hike. I have other hiking socks that fit better and they don’t give me a blister so I think it’s because these are a tad too large. I wear a size 7 women’s shoe.

Sizing runs large! Bought these to try with new hiking boots, and they seem like they will be comfortable and warm as expected.Sizing seems to run large though. I usually wear size 6.5-7 women’s shoe and I bought the small socks (for size 4-6.5), and they are still a bit too big. Will need to be careful how I put them on so they don’t bunch and become uncomfortable when in the hiking boots. I’ve attached some photos so you can see how baggy they are.Haven’t tried them outside yet but I…
